The Wythe Dornan and Brian Douglas Memorial Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization, will accept applications for funding support until Aug. 9, 2002. The fund offers financial support to organizations and individuals who benefit and enhance the health, education and welfare of individuals in communities in Southeast Alaska.

Individuals and organizations that benefit and enhance the health, education and welfare of individuals in Southeast Alaska communities can seek funding support from the Wythe Dornan and Brian Douglas Memorial Fund. Applications will be accepted until Aug. 9.

Children who have completed kindergarten up to age 14 are eligible to participate. Riders who wear helmets to the rodeo will win extra prizes. Parents are welcome to attend and refreshments will be provided.
On May 20 we held a very successful Mexican Fiesta for the benefit of El Puente de Esperiza, the work of Conchita Walker. It was so well-attended that we ran out of food. So first of all I would like to thank all of the people who attended the dinner in support of Conchita Walker's work.
The Gastineau Humane Society would like to thank the entire community for coming out on a rainy Sunday afternoon to support our event, ``Running with the Pack.'' This walk/run brought in over $2,500 for the orphan animals of Juneau!
Piper Platte was named to the dean's list for the second semester of her freshman year at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt. She is an English major with an emphasis on creative writing. Jones honored at Napa Valley College
