Lawmaker introduces trio of bills addressing game management

JUNEAU - An Anchorage lawmaker has introduced three bills addressing game management in Alaska.Rep. Andy Josephson's bills would create a new management area near Denali National Park and Preserve where hunting and trapping wolves would be prohibited, and require that one member of the state Board of Game represent nonconsumptive uses, such as tourism, wildlife viewing or research. The Board of Game recently rejected an emergency petition to create a buffer zone around the park to protect wolves.
