Richard Harpham is a man who finishes what he begins. The founder of the Big 5 Kayak Challenge, a small group of like-minded adventurers, Harpham passed through the capital city last week on his way north to connect the legs of two of his earlier expeditions. The trip will take Harpham and his team from Juneau to Skagway via kayak, on foot along the Chilkoot Trail to British Columbia, and rafting to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. In July of 2009 he kayaked the Inside Passage from Vancouver Island to Glacier Bay, and in 2010 he canoed the Yukon River.
The Big 5 Kayak Challenge team stopped in Juneau on Friday evening during their fifth and final challenge - kayaking the Inside Passage - of their five-challenge endeavor.
