Change inspires Lisa Weissler.

The Senate Finance Committee on Sunday stripped a $9 million appropriation for the project from a bonds bill. The revised measure was scheduled for a Senate floor debate today.

Weissler won first place in the Juneau Empire's Science Fiction Contest for her entry ``Changing Times.'' The annual contest is the fourth held by the Empire. ``It's actually taken from a short story I'm working on,'' Weissler, 43, said.
