Patsy Ann's ability to meet every boat took on the status of legend. In 1934 the mayor dubbed her ``Official Greeter of Juneau, Alaska'' and exempted her from a new licensing law. Tourists took her photo, shops sold Patsy Ann postcards and the newspaper reported her adventures.
