JDHS graduate survives direct impact of Missouri tornado

"There were people drowned in the pool outside our apartment and debris everywhere," 2006 Juneau-Douglas High School graduate Victoria Powers said of what she saw when she opened her bathroom door after Sunday's tornado in Joplin, Mo. hit her apartment complex. "It looked like someone dropped a bomb in Joplin and it felt like we all got hit by a train while it happened."
