Cabinet-level rural advisor planned

The Walker-Mallott administration will be appointing a cabinet-level rural policy advisor within the next week to help it achieve its goal of creating "relationships with tribal government that are rich and strong and allow us to work together in every possible way," Lt. Gov. Byron Mallott said in a speech delivered Thursday at the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall in downtown Juneau.The address was a part of the Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska's 2015 Native Issues Forum. Almost 200 people attended the event.
