Poll says 54 percent back legislative move

A new poll shows a majority of Alaskans favor a ballot initiative to move legislative sessions to the Matanuska-Susitna Borough or to Anchorage. But the pollster didn't read respondents a key part of the ballot language. That part explains the initiative would repeal the existing requirement for costs of the move to be determined by a commission and approved by voters.

Weyhrauch meets with constituents

Juneau Rep.-elect Bruce Weyhrauch met for the first time with constituents Wednesday night at the Mendenhall Valley Public Library. Weyhrauch was elected in November to represent House District 4, which covers most of the Mendenhall Valley, Auke Bay and all points north. He will be sworn in on the first day of the 23rd legislative session on Jan. 21.
