Gottschalks moving to Mendenhall Mall space

The Gottschalks department store will move from the Nugget Mall to larger space formerly occupied by J.C. Penney in the Mendenhall Mall, brokers who handled the transaction announced Monday. The change will increase Gottschalks' store size by about 16,000 square feet and will provide an anchor store for the Mendenhall Mall, said broker John Williams of Juneau Real Estate, which has a contract with J.C.
