Juneau group wins grant for arts complex planning

JUNEAU - A Juneau nonprofit organization has won a $51,000 grant for planning a proposed arts complex.Juneau radio station KTOO reported the grant from the Juneau Community Foundation is for a feasibility study and business plan.The proposed Willoughby Arts Complex would be part of the existing Juneau Arts and Culture Center.A partnership between the Perseverance Theatre and the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council is behind the project.The feasibility study and business plan will be conducted by the McDowell Group.
Juneau groups offer four scholarships to music MAT students

Juneau Alaska Music Matters (JAMM), the Juneau Symphony and the Juneau community are partnering with the University of Alaska Southeast to offer four $10,000 scholarships to string students interested in pursuing a one-year Master of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education with the opportunity to earn a certification in K-12 Music.
