Glacier Swim Club standout Jesie Lewis finished 23rd in the 50-meter freestyle at the Junior Championships-West last week in Clovis, Calif., against the top 19-under USS competition from across the nation. Lewis, entering her senior year at Juneau-Douglas High School, posted a top-24 time of 27.

Swimmers will be seeking pledges for the next five weeks. Then, on March 14, each swimmer will be trying to swim as many as 200 laps (or 2.8 miles) in the allotted two hours. Proceeds are used to pay for pool rental, equipment and swim meet expenses.
