Juneau's Assembly has denied an appeal to halt construction of two new cruise docks downtown. This leaves the courts as the remaining avenue for those who appealed the project - and they said they haven't yet decided their next course of action.

Under the euphemism of "Dock Improvement (16 B)," downtown Juneau is destined to become more congested than ever imagined. A couple pause to look at the Alaska Commercial Fisherman's Memorial on Thursday. The memorial has been a hot topic as the Docks and Harbors Department and the ACFM Board have been working to see if the building of the new cruise ship docks will impact the memorial enough that it must be moved. Some families who have names on the memorial don't want it moved as it would be like "digging up a grave yard" and suggest the proposed floating cruise ship docks to be completed in 2014-15 be relocated to another part of the waterfront.
